Helena Slabbert

Helena grew up in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, and graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1997 as a General Practitioner.

She Completed her Internship and Community Service Year at Uitenhage Provincial Hospital.  She completed her Diploma in Anaesthesia, Diploma in Obstetrics, and her Diploma in Sedation and Pain Control, while working various hospitals in Nelson Mandela Bay, and as a General Practitioner at a private practice in Uitenhage.

In 2011 her family relocated to Cradock, where she is working as a Family Physician at the Family Medical Centre, servicing the community of Cradock at an Integrated Health facility.  She loves working with patients from all ages, from pregnancy and birth to the elderly, and she believes that health is more than just the absence of disease. Her motto is “because we care”, and that is what truly inspires her.

She is married to Corne for20 years, and they have 4 amazing kids, Niel, Jaco, Corne and Anina.  She loves reading in the mountains, and camping with her family.
